Save the dates for your application cycle
These dates are for fall 2027 entry. Keep the year beside each calendar reminder so an older guide does not send you to the wrong deadline.
| Date | What to do |
|---|---|
| August 1, 2026 | Start your UC application; the application opens. |
| September 1–30, 2026 | Submit a TAG application if you are eligible and choose to use TAG. |
| October 1–November 30, 2026 | Submit your general UC application during the filing period. |
| December 15, 2026 | The Transfer Academic Update opens. |
| January 31, 2027 | Priority deadline for your Transfer Academic Update. |
| June 1, 2027 | Deadline for admitted transfer students to submit their Statement of Intent to Register. |
| July 1, 2027 | Send final official transcripts to the admitting campus; postmark or submit electronically by this date. |
| July 15, 2027 | Send official AP/IB results and other required documents, including GE certification; postmark or submit electronically by this date. |
TAG and the UC application are separate steps
TAG is available at UC Davis, Irvine, Merced, Riverside, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz. Berkeley, UCLA, and UC San Diego do not participate. Campus and major eligibility rules still apply; check the TAG matrix before choosing a campus.
A TAG application does not replace the general UC application. If you submit a TAG, you must also submit your UC application in the October 1–November 30 filing period and fulfill the conditions of your TAG agreement. Missing the TAG deadline does not prevent you from applying through the regular UC application process.
Keep your coursework current after applying
The Transfer Academic Update records final fall 2026 grades and planned coursework through summer 2027. UC requires the update even if your original application already had all your grades and you have no courses in progress or planned.
January 31 is the priority deadline. If grades or course plans change later, follow UC's update instructions. After an admission offer, confirm that the campus knows about deficient grades or schedule changes; editing a separate planner does not update your UC application.
Make a short application checklist
Add the relevant dates to your calendar, collect records from every college attended, and save each campus portal's instructions. Supplemental applications, major-specific materials, and financial-aid tasks can have their own deadlines.
Use a course plan alongside this timeline to review what you have completed and what you intend to take. Confirm your coursework with a counselor and keep your application records consistent with your actual enrollment.
